Tasty Raw Food Snacks For After School

Every parent wants to give their kids the right nutrition. The best way to accomplish this is by providing them with delicious raw food snacks after school. There are many things to choose from and all of it is packed with plenty of vitamins.

Most children are extremely picky when it comes to eating. Trying to get them to consume a healthy vegan snack might seem like an impossible feat. However, there are some easy snacking choices that they are sure to love.

Smoothies are a treat that most youngsters enjoy. They are packed with plenty of nutrition and taste great as well. Blend together some apples, bananas oranges, pineapple and brewer's yeast to make a shake that no child can resist.

Another great option is vegetarian sushi. Use sheets of seaweed and roll them around thin cut carrots, cucumber and avocado. The small bundles create the perfect finger food for any child. Mix things up by adding other items such as bell peppers or shredded cabbage. For more fun, let the kids help to put them together.

Brownies are a favorite of most children. The raw version is easy to make and it tastes delicious. Combine almond butter, honey, carob powder and date paste. Spread it into a pan and let it chill in the refrigerator for at least two hours. The store bought version is no comparison to these rich tasting treats.

Lettuce wraps are always fun to eat. Cut up avocados, tomatoes, onions, jalapenos and some cilantro. Toss the vegetables with some freshly squeezed lime juice and wrap them in romaine leaves.

Chips are a snacking staple for most people. Put some fresh corn in a food processor and grind it up into a fine paste. It's also alright to use frozen corn that has been thawed out. Add some chili powder, garlic and cumin for flavor. Press the mixture into a dehydration tray and score it into triangles. Dry for a few hours and serve it alone or alongside another healthy choice. It's a great alternative for individuals who like the salty crunchiness of bagged snacks.

Pudding may be made by blending mangoes, coconut and lime juice. Mix until creamy and thick. Sprinkle on some chopped nuts like pecans.

Fries are a favorite for most children. Slice some zucchini strips into thin match stick shapes. Make homemade ketchup by blending tomatoes, lemon juice, dates and some water. Kids will never miss the deep fried version.

Implementing raw food snacks does not have to be difficult. A healthy vegan snack will allow kids to better focus in school and gives them more energy. The entire family will feel better after making this change in lifestyle.
